An Ivy League graduate, Dr. Andres matriculated from Columbia University with undergraduate degrees in Biology and Political Science as a Rhodes Scholar candidate. After college, he achieved his graduate schooling in Neuroscience and medical degree and training from Harvard University/Medical School and Michigan State University, earning several honors and Society inductions throughout his education. He completed the competitive five-year combined general surgery/plastic surgery residency at the highly-regarded Grand Rapids/MSU program. He attained Chief Resident distinction during his final year, with top commendations from faculty, staff, and patients. While in his residency training, Dr. Andres nurtured his fondness for breast surgery and reconstruction, learning from many world experts in these fields, including Dr. Dennis Hammond, and learned the most advanced techniques in these areas.
During his residency training, Dr. Andres developed his predilection for breast surgery and reconstructive surgeries. He was able to learn from various global experts in the field, including Dr. Dennis Hammond. With an ultimate goal of providing the finest and most leading-edge techniques to his patients, he sought additional fellowship training in Advanced Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery at the internationally renowned Mayo Clinic. There, Dr. Andres trained in the art of hand and microsurgery as well as breast reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Andres is now a specialist in breast, hand and microsurgery. He offers microsurgical and perforator flap reconstruction, including DIEP, SIEA, SGAP, TUG, TAP, ALT, and others, for his cancer patients and understands the trials they endure. He is the only fellowship-trained microsurgical and breast reconstruction specialist in the Valley. During his fellowship, he had advanced training in cosmetic procedures of the face and body. He is dedicated to working with each of his patients with personal care, competence, compassion, and respect while producing optimal and excellent results.
